This week we have chosen to center our prayer suggestions round the portions from the Torah Readings.
This week’s Torah Portion:
From ancient times there has been a weekly portion from the five books of Moses (The Torah) and from the prophets (Haftarah-final reading) read on the Sabbath in synagogues around the world. This portion is given a Hebrew name taken from the opening words of the passage. An illustration of this practice appears to have been recorded in Luke 4:16 where Yeshua (Jesus) arrived in the synagogue in Nazareth and was asked to read the Haftarah portion (Isaiah 61) from the Prophets. We have found that in perusing these weekly readings, not only are we provided opportunity to identify in the context of God’s Word with millions of Jewish people around the world, but very often the Holy Spirit will illumine specific passages pertinent that week in our intercession for the Land and people of Israel. Prayer For Our Countries Leaders
Why Complain, It Won’t Change Things. Just Pray
I’m not to happy with America’s direction of leadership, however complaining about it just doesn’t do much to change things. Daily I get endless emails that speak against Obama, the government, our leaders and so on. However very rarely do I get emails that are prayer requests for our nation, our nations leaders or the government. Now that’s faith.
Let us pray for our leaders, rather than just complain about them. Besides, God rarely answers complaints, yet prayers have been known to turn His ear and bring forth changes..
Prayer For The Homeless
Homeless Living
There are so many people that have lost thier homes and are homeless. I personally know quite a few that just a year or two ago were enjoying life only to encounter job losses, set backs and eventually the loss of thier homes. Please take time to pray for those who are hurting, and pray that others would open thier hearts to help them.

Hard & Difficult Times
Difficult Times, Yet God’s Will Be Done
Over the last year or so, I have watched the affects of the economy on the lives of many people. Our food ministry at church is overflowing with both the general public and church members that have fallen on hard times, all seeking food. Within this, I have also watched the affects of the economy on the church, those who serve fulltime in paid positions, and in other areas. I’ve also watched the attendance get smaller and become just a tad spuratic. Bottom line, the economy is affecting many church’s and ministries.
Let us pray for all the church’s, and ministries that are struggling. That God will sustain them, that God’s Will, will be done.
